We've seen a busy couple of weeks at Yalumba. In March we held another successful Yalumba Harvest Market, part of the biennial Barossa Vintage Festival. Held at our Angaston winery in South Australia, it's a celebration of anything Barossan. The two-day event revolves around good food and wine and all things epicurean. From cooking schools, fresh produce markets and entertainment to master classes and cooperage tours, and of course picnics on the Yalumba lawns.
Acclaimed Sydney chef, Martin Boetz of the famed restaurant, Longrain, held a two-day cooking school - 'Spicy Salads' and 'Quick Curries' - where guests learnt a secret or two about Martin's exquisite Thai-inspired cuisine.
Yalumba's Director of Winemaking, Brian Walsh held wine master classes, 'The Art of Blending', where he guided visitors through his passion for blended wines, in particular Cabernet Shiraz.
The Market Square was the highlight of the event. It showcased Barossan produce, and visitors could browse and sample while tasting some of Yalumba's wine or be entertained by one of the many demonstrations.
It was another Harvest Market to remember, and we hope to see you all in 2007.
