Yalumba Wild Ferment Chardonnay 2005, Eden Valley
"What a steal; this is a sub-$20 chardonnay which tastes like one costing twice as much. Flinty steely on the nose: really restrained with white nectarine, a sniff of celery and fine oak spice. Has zest and peel in the mouth, with smoke, really tight and focused with a core of nectarine and baby pineapple fruit: a lovely deep mid-palate in fact, really tingly. Wafts of smoke and nuts to finish, really juicy and long - gets better and better. Superb. 94/100"
