Two upcoming releases from Yalumba have received high praise from prolific wine writer Tyson Stelzer in the October edition of Wine100. Yalumba The Signature Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz 2006 [Barossa] and Yalumba The Virgilius Viognier 2009 [Eden Valley] have both been recommended by Stelzer as excellent wines, highlighting the winery’s commitment to both The Great Australian Red and Viognier. Keep an eye out for the release of both wines during the next six months.
Yalumba The Signature Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz 2006
96 points - "A recent vertical spanning the almost 50-year history of this wine demonstrated its longevity and 2006 as one of the finest vintages in a long time. A beautifully elegant 13.5% alcohol preserves its floral lift, bright berry fruits profile and sprinkling of black pepper."
Yalumba The Virgilius Eden Valley Viognier 2009
95 points - "Vine age and winemaking experiences makes Virgilius more restrained and textural each season, the 2009 is another cracker. Lemon, lime and pepper are the themes of the bouquet, the palate adding stone fruits and nutmeg. It will improve in bottle for the next five years and potentially longer."
