Yalumba Y Series Merlot 2007

"A charming and youthful looking Merlot showing ripe red/black plum, spice and dried herb characters on the nose. The appealing medium-bodied palate shows good fruit intensity and fine, gently drying tannins. The finish is a little firm but that makes this a great wine to partner flavoursome dishes. At its best: now to 2012."

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit (NZ), April 2010

4 stars - "Yalumba Y Series wines invariably offer great varietal idenity on a budget. They are "honest" wines, not overly spruced up by residual sugar, oak chips or other artefact. This merlot sums it all up; attractively fresh raspberry and blackberry aromas, some earthy touches, medium body, attractive succulence, balanced light tannins."

Ralph Kyte-Powell, Epicure - The Age (Aus), 7 July 2009

BLOODY GOOD "Another pearl in Yalumba's brilliant value-for-money range. It is rich, ripe and concentrated with blackcurrant and black cherry flavours, fleshy, silky texture, and substantial, ripe, fine-knit tannins. Drink with an elegant lamb roast dish or the best new season's lamb chops."

Peter Forrestal, Quaff 2009 (Aus), October 2008
