 | It would have been hard to have planned a more perfect white vintage. After a lovely wet Spring and early Summer, the vines were healthy and strong setting good conservative crops. The result was a quick, clean, early vintage and some gorgeous white wines.
This wine is a blend of fruit from the Barossa Valley and Eden Valley. Together, these two adjacent regions make up the Barossa. The warmer Barossa Valley produces wines that have richness of flavour, while the cooler Eden Valley provides elegant and lifted aromatics. The Barossa region is renown for its quality Riesling wines.
Yalumba Y Series Riesling 2006 is pale straw in colour with green hues. The wine shows classic varietal character with aromas of lime juice and lemon peel, with delicate orange blossom overtones. The palate is lively and refreshing with generous lemon and grapefruit flavours, and a hint of fleshy ripe tropical fruits on the finish.
This wine is great for current drinking, and for those who enjoy the subtle toast
