 | The Sangiovese grapes for the 2009 Yalumba Y Series Sangiovese Rose come from three distinct vineyard sites, two in the Barossa and a third in Wrattonbully. The Barossa vineyards are located in the Gomersal sub region –rich, red brown earth over limestone that gives the wine depth and length, and Penrice - brown sandy loam, giving the wine perfume and freshness. Our Wrattonbully vineyard site comprises of terra rossa soil over a limestone base. This terroir gives the wine a powerful depth of flavour coupled with mineral texture.
The Yalumba Y Series Sangiovese Rose has aromas of wild strawberries, lavender, sweet vanilla and a watermelon cocktail. The palate is naturally refreshing with a silky texture and fruit sweetness, the wine shows cranberry and grapefruit tartness leading to a dry savoury finish. Enjoy with fresh seafood or Thai inspired dishes.
