The 1999/2000 growing season could well be called erratic. From a mild winter and cool and windy conditions in spring through to high mid summer temperatures which were followed with periods of large rainfall. All of this has resulted in a slightly earlier than normal harvest, with very low cropping levels. A difficult vintage yet one that has produced rich and concentrated wines.
