The Adventurer who loves a good story will marvel at this fine wine.
The Caley is the pinnacle of a long winemaking journey of excellence that rightfully honours one of Yalumba’s most adventurous sons, Fred Caley Smith.
The grandson of Yalumba’s founder Samuel Smith, Frederick Caley Smith, shared the story of Yalumba with the world when he set off from his home in Angaston in 1893 for a grand scientific tour that would take him around the world in 635 days: from the USA, Canada, England and Europe to the Middle East, India and Sri Lanka.
A blend of Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon and Barossa Shiraz, The Caley is a classic marriage of two noble varieties and two great Australian wine regions.
The new release The Caley Cabernet & Shiraz 2013 is a deep, dark, purple-red wine with complex aromas of fresh spices, cedar and currants, and rich and textured palate with fine tannins that provide excellent length. Ideal for long-term cellaring.

This is a wine for someone who loves cooking exotic foods. Viognier is a robust, textured white wine and pairs perfectly with all kinds of cuisines, but particularly with the spicy, sweet flavours you find in Asian food, like chilli, ginger, and lime.

Pale gold with green highlights. The nose has intense aromas of early season apricots, cardamom, white pepper and fresh ginger.
Lifted ginger spice is layered on the palate with a mineral texture and complex apricot and almond savouriness. The trademark Viognier lusciousness of the palate makes this wine complex while at the same time showing purity and restraint. This is a wine that will take the most well-travelled adventurer on a sensory journey.
Featured: The Cigar Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 (new release)
Know someone who likes to stoke up the barbecue and cook for a crowd? Look no further than our robust, luscious, yet easy drinking, The Cigar Cabernet Sauvignon.
“The Cigar” is a name given to the unique cigar-shaped strip of rich red terra rossa soil in the Coonawarra, where the grapes for this succulent wine were sourced.
Home to some of Australia’s most famous vineyards, the secret of Coonawarra lies in the intimate bond between its terra rossa soil, limestone layers, pure water and a long cool ripening season.
Fortunate to be part of this iconic place, Yalumba salutes the region’s pioneers and those privileged to inherit its future with this deep, crimson wine.
With aromas of plum, licorice allsorts, and heady violets, the palate is rich and supple, showing great depth, with dark blueberry fruits are complemented by a savoury mid palate of tapenade and dried herbs.
Perfect when paired with barbecued lamb loin chops or mushroom, tomato and basil lasagna, or a box of dark chocolate truffles!
