Experience a relaxing day of Yalumba hospitality with something special for the entire family.

Explore 170 years of history with barrel bending demonstrations in our on-site cooperage, grafting demonstrations from our world-class vine nursery, preserving workshops and exclusive spirit and fortified master classes.

Bring a picnic rug and discover local artisan produce, or sit down for a VIP Winemakers Picnic of local dishes paired seamlessly with Yalumba wines.

Entertain the kids with new variety grape tastings, face painting and lawn games. Enjoy live music and Yalumba's fine wines on the lawns surrounding the majestic Yalumba Clocktower.

Winemakers Lunch

Yalumba Signature Lawn

Celebrate the beginning of the Barossa Vintage Festival with sensational food, wine and live acoustic on the Yalumba Signature lawn. Take a seat with the Yalumba winemakers and indulge in artisanal Barossa produce with a relaxed three course lunch by Vintners Bar & Grill, followed by locally-made Barossa Valley Ice Cream. Our winemakers will expertly pair each course with wines from Yalumba’s new Samuel’s Collection and tell the tales of their craft.

Time: 12.30pm – 2:30pm

Spirits Masterclass

Yalumba Family Tasting Room

Guided by Yalumba head winemaker Louisa Rose, enjoy an exclusive tour of the on-site distillery, learning the craft of gin and eau de vie, followed by a private tasting in the Yalumba Family Tasting Room. Come and try the V de Vie for yourself, a unique eau de vie using Viognier grapes, and what Huon Hooke refers to as “a spirit that is similar to top-shelf Italian grappa”. The recently released Smith’s gin will be sure to excite the most avid home mixologist.

Yalumba Family Tasting Room

Explore Yalumba’s unique and fascinating history of fortified wine and spirits. Enjoy an exclusive tour of the on-site distillery, guided by Yalumba winemaker Kevin Glastonbury. A private tasting will follow in the Family Tasting Room where you will be amongst the first in the world to taste the yet to be released aged fortifieds and the highly sought after Smith’s whisky, where every release is a sell-out. Both are extremely limited production runs, be sure not to miss out.

Those Barossa Girls – Preserving with Fowlers Vacola

Preserving Workshop

Clocktower Lawn

Join Marieka and Sheralee of Those Barossa Girls for this introductory fruit preserving workshop to step you through the basics and give you the confidence to start a food story of your own. Demonstrating the Fowlers Vacola method, participants will go home armed with an instruction booklet, recipes, a goodie bag, two jars of preserved pears, and a whole new outlook on seasonal fruit.

Yalumba Cooperage

The crafting of oak barrels is a proud tradition at Yalumba with a coopering history dating back to the turn of the 20th century. With its own on-site cooperage, Yalumba is one of a few wineries in Australia, and one of a small and select group of wineries in the world, to enjoy this privilege. See the Coopers hard at work preparing wine barrels for Yalumba’s fine wines with demonstrations every hour from 11.30am.
