Tasting Note Luminous garnet colour with great depth and bright purple reflections. The initial fragrance reveals fresh raspberry and dark cherries on a floral background of rose and violet petals. As the wine evolves, it unveils an intriguing savoury complexity, with herbal nuances of sage and wild oregano. On the palate, this medium to full-bodied Grenache offers impeccable balance. Juicy fruit flavours are seamlessly integrated with fresh acidity and long, well integrated tannins, creating a structure both refined and enduring.
Terroir The 2024 VAT-11 Barossa Valley Grenache showcases the best of the north-western Barossa. Grown on a gentle eastern slope with well-drained grey loam soils over fine red clay and rows aligned north to south, the vineyard benefits from ideal sunlight exposure and airflow. With low yields and careful hands-on viticulture, the site consistently produces exceptional fruit, season after season, capturing the unique character of its location in every bottle.
Treatment Matured for 7½ months in large format, aged French oak puncheons. The oldest barrels are from 2010 and the youngest from 2015.
