The Octavius Barossa Old Vine Shiraz
Shiraz 1992- Vintage quality: Very cool January & February, with heavy Autumn rains. Low bearing old vines have produced grapes of immense flavour and concentration.
- Cellar guide: 20-30 Years
- Last tasted: September 1994, Simon Adams, Winemaker
- Notes: Thick plum red in colour, this wine displays very youthful hues. The nose is a mix of briary red cherry aromas with spice and sweet vanilla mocha oak. The old vines strength is their ability to provide great strength in the middle palate through the concentration of the berries. This is evident here with one of the "sweetest" palates I have seen. Awards & Accolades: 3 Gold
