The Octavius Barossa Old Vine Shiraz
Shiraz 2002- Vintage quality: Mild and dry weather over the long ripening period and low average temperatures in January have lead to wines with great colour, varietal flavours and intensity.
- Cellar guide: 8-12 Years
- Last tasted: April 2004, Kevin Glastonbury, Winemaker
- Notes: The Octavius 2002 is a vibrant deep ruby red colour. Deep, dark, brooding aromas of plum, blackberry and chocolates are lifted by nuances of ground coffee, liquorice, violets and cassis. Soft, velvety and sumptuous, the palate is a voluptuous concoction of blackberries, cherries, dark chocolates and creamy vanilla oak, all framed by tight knit tannins. The length is remarkable and the balance exceptional. 1 Trophy, 1 Commendation, 5 Gold
